A canvas print takes the image off your phone and turns it into something with weight, texture, and presence — hand-stretched over real wood, ready to hang the moment it arrives.
Every order is printed with archival pigment inks on cotton-poly canvas, then stretched by hand over kiln-dried pine bars at our Canadian facility — no outsourcing, no shortcuts.
What exactly is a canvas print, and how does Canada Print Studio make one?
A canvas print is your photo reproduced with pigment-based giclée inks on woven cotton-poly canvas, then pulled taut by hand over a wooden stretcher frame — the same construction method used for traditional painted canvases. There's no glass, no frame, and nothing standing between the viewer and the image.
At our facility, every canvas is printed on calibrated wide-format printers, trimmed with margin for wrapping, and stretched over kiln-dried pine bars that have already been dried to a stable moisture level so the canvas stays taut instead of sagging as seasons change. The back is stapled, corners are folded and tucked by hand, and a hanging kit is attached before the piece is wrapped for shipping.
The result: a lightweight, ready-to-hang piece of wall art that arrives needing nothing but a hook.
Choose Your
Canvas Style
One photo, several ways to hang it. Pick the format that fits your wall and the story you're telling.
0.75" or 1.5"?
Pick Your Profile.
The number refers to the depth of the wooden stretcher bar behind the canvas — how far it sits off the wall. Both are sturdy and warp-resistant; the difference is purely visual.
0.75" Stretcher Bars
Sits close to the wall with a subtle shadow line — a clean, understated look that works well in groupings or galleries of multiple smaller pieces.
- Lighter weight, easier to hang in groups
- Best for sizes up to roughly 20×16"
- Lower shipping cost on multi-piece orders
- Pairs naturally with thin floating frames
1.5" Stretcher Bars
A deeper frame creates a strong shadow and a substantial, almost sculptural presence on the wall — no additional frame needed, even at large sizes.
- Reads as "finished" without any frame
- Recommended for anything 24×18" and up
- Better rigidity for panoramic and split panels
- The modern gallery-wall standard

Which Size
Fits Your Wall?
A rough guide based on where the canvas will hang and how far away people typically stand to view it. When in doubt, go one size larger — undersized canvas is the most common regret.

A few notes from customers who turned their photos into canvas prints with us.
"We went with the 1.5\" profile on a 36×24 of our backyard in autumn. It has real weight to it — doesn't look printed, looks painted. Exactly what I was hoping for."
"Ordered a 3-panel split canvas of a hiking photo for our stairwell. The size guide on the site was spot on for the wall I had — didn't have to guess at all."
"Edges were folded so cleanly I had to look twice to find the seams. Arrived with the hanger already on — hung it within five minutes of opening the box."
